Uplifting Stories About Hope Will Inspire You to Put on Your Cape in this New Documentary Now on Digital HD!

LOOK TO THE SKY

New York, NY (March 27, 2018)From the filmmaker behind Legends of the Knight comes Look To The Sky — a motivating film that weaves together the enriching true stories of young people who have demonstrated the spirit of Superman in their lives — to digital HD from Virgil Films March 27, 2018.

In a world where negative stories dominate the news on a consistent basis, filmmaker Brett Culp knew there was some good out there and wanted to capture some of these positive stories on film. So he set out to find those who have overcome great odds, who have had heroic moments, and who have put aside their own needs to consider the needs of others. In Look to the Sky, these stories come together to show us what is possible for any young person to achieve, no matter what stands in their way.

“The more darkness we face, the more we need bright symbols to light our path forward,” says Culp in the documentary. “As a filmmaker and a lifelong fan of superheroes, my personal mission has always been to share stories that bring light and compassion into the world.”

One of the superheroes we meet is Sanah. In 7th grade, she was diagnosed with alopecia, an autoimmune hair-loss condition that required her to wear a wig permanently. Bullying from fellow classmates sent her into a spiral of depression until one day she decided, in a full act of bravery, to post a Facebook message to all her classmates revealing her true self to the world.

Another story involves Margaret, an 8-year-old who was deeply moved by an ad she saw calling to help feed poor children in Haiti. Prior to this, she had never realized there were kids in the world who didn’t knew what it was like to go to their home fridge for food. Margaret decided to give up her birthday presents that year, instead asking family and friends to donate to the cause, and raised over $8,000 – enough to feed an entire school for a year.

From KJ, who wrote his own book for deaf basketball players, to Annaliese, who raised money for a camp by swimming across Lake Ontario, to 7-year-old “Super Ewan” who helps feed the homeless of Detroit, Culp finds us some of the most heartening stories and shows that there is truly so much to feel good about in the world, even during trying times. Look To The Sky is a touching journey into what is possible for the world and for our own lives. Put on your cape, and get inspired!
