MORPHINE: JOURNEY OF DREAMS

The definitive story of the Boston-born “low rock” band arrives on Digital HD October 18TH

New York, NY (September 27th, 2016) The in-depth tale of the nineties band who blazed like a comet across the global music scene shines through in the new documentary MORPHINE: JOURNEY OF DREAMS, which will be released on Digital HD and DVD October 18th. Directed by Mark Shuman, the film features stories of the surviving members of the band Morphine as we go behind the music and inside the lives of the power trio.

MORPHINE: JOURNEY OF DREAMS documents the journey, success and ultimately struggles of the internationally known “low-rock” band. They began their musical journey in the late 80s and soared through the rock music scene. From playing their first couple of acts at local bars to touring across country, the band immediately rose to the top of the music charts. It wasn’t until experiencing the devastating loss of their vocalist/songwriter Mark Sandman that the band hit a low. Since then, they vowed to keep Sandman’s music and spirit alive. The film illustrates the stories of each member— saxophonist Dana Colley and drummers Billy Conway and Jerome Dupree and recounts their memories while touring across Europe, Japan and Australia.

MORPHINE: JOURNEY OF DREAMS is not just a story of music business triumph and tragedy, but also a love story, adventure, drama, travelogue, and something of a roller coaster ride all in one. Beautifully shot and interwoven with a wealth of archival performance footage from concerts and TV, it’s a seductive, emotionally engaging and finally sad – yet still gratifying – story well told in film and, of course, music.

MORPHINE: JOURNEY OF DREAMS will be available to own for digital download and streaming as well on DVD October 18th.
